Elida: balancing emotions

Patient: Elida, 69 years old
Institution: Caritas
Therapists: Cristina and Liliana

Initially, she was very sad and showed a conflicted character. In addition, she talked about a complex family pattern. Her husband Jorge, who had had a psychopathic personality for all his life, was currently quite sick: he had Parkinson and Alzheimer diseases. Both had a minimum pension, and had a son, 25 years old, whom she suspected to be involved in drugs: he neither worked nor studied.

The therapists tried to support her. She was depressed, exhausted, with low self-esteem, resented, fearful and very worried because of her husband’s sickness. Frequently, she put aside her own health with the excuse of ‘lack of time.’

In the beginning, she had an extrusion of synovial fluid in the right hand, which was painful and prevented her from articulating the finger. The Hospital, where she used to go for assistance, recommended surgery (the diagnosis was hand osteoarthritis).

Meanwhile, the therapists offered her a cream to put twice a day on the affected area. Because she was overwhelmed with the family situation, she forgot to use the cream for days and only did it occasionally.

The surgery was postponed twice – the first time, because of a Hospital strike and the second, because of her husband's illness complication that ended with his death.

In spite of all the grief, sadness and lack of collaboration from her son, she became more engaged with her own health and started to use the cream – first once a day and finally twice – as recommended.

She is currently without pain in her hand; she articulates her finger and the surgery was cancelled. She walks regularly, she is much calmer, has friends, and attends workshops.

Cream Formula: Rock Water, Impatiens, Holly, Willow, Vervain, Vine, Dill
