MetaFlora Level Four  Finding Life Purpose

In this stage, the soul comes into deeper contact with the world, by developing compassion and service for others.  Rather than simply choosing a career for financial reward or social status, the need for the soul is to listen to and follow its true life purpose.  Such decisions may mean finding the courage to be up front in the world, or to quietly serve in the background, depending on the soul's destiny.  Many illnesses of the soul have to do with its enslavement to values or goals that are not truly its own.  Finding life purpose often means breaking away from limiting ideas and beliefs imposed upon by others.  But while the soul becomes freer in one sense, it also uses this freedom to develop love and concern for others.  Beyond the actual work one does for pay, this MetaFlora level also addresses the ability to give back to others in our family, in our community and in the world at large.  The following are the most important flower essences which stimulate this MetaFlora level:

Wild Oat  One of the primary polychrest remedies recommended by Dr. Bach for helping the soul to hear its own voice, the calling of a vocation; especially for those who are restless, dissatisfied and unable to find focus

Walnut  To break links and spells which bind us to old forms or family or cultural expectations that are not truly our own; for strength to follow our true soul purpose

Larkspur  To find joy and enthusiasm in one's work or responsibilities, to find positive and uplifting reasons for service, counteracting dutifulness or martyrdom

Pomegranate  Especially for women who feel profound conflict around issues of home and career; to harmonise the feminine soul's creative and procreative needs

Dandelion  Excessive ambition and drive which results in workaholic conditions; the need to relax and flow with ones work and responsibilities

Hornbeam  Extreme tiredness and boredom or distraction in one's work, usually indicating that the soul is not truly engaged or interested in what it is doing

Quince  To help balance the hard and soft aspects of the soul; especially for single parents or mothers who must combine nurturing skills at home with professional discipline and strength in the workplace

Sweet Pea  For developing sense of place, and feeling for community; for a deeper soul connection to home, and vital connection for one's earthly environment

Vine  Strong forces of leadership which can become overbearing or corrupt due to the desire for power or prestige; balancing leadership with service

Trillium  For greed and self-aggrandisement, especially the motivation of the soul to work only for money or other material rewards

Star Thistle
A fear of lack which leads to hoarding material possessions; pronounced rigidity and reclusiveness, rather than generosity and social connection

Tansy  Inability to act on one's true soul potential, procrastination or under-achievement due to lack of interest and commitment
