Aura Glossary of Terms

Auras —Luminous energy fields which emanate from all living things.

Chakra —A Sanskrit word meaning “wheel of light.” Chakras are spinning energy centers which generate the aura around the body. There are seven major chakras and many minor chakras. Each chakra has an association with a color, and physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of our being.

Etheric Body —The first layer of the aura, it is the energy matrix
for the physical body. 1

Emotional Body —The second layer of the aura, this body is associated with feelings. It will contain all colors of the rainbow and the ‘feelings’ they represent can be associated with a corresponding chakra. 2

Mental Body —The third layer of the aura, the mental body is associated with our mental processes like thoughts and ideas. 3

Astral Body —The fourth layer of the aura, the astral body is a refined, more ‘spiritualized’ emotional body. It corresponds to our heart center. It will contain all the colors of the rainbow, and will often have a predominance of pinks. 4

Etheric Template Body —The fifth layer of the aura, this layer is a template form for the first etheric layer of the aura. 5

Celestial Body —The sixth layer of the aura, this body is an emotional body of the spiritual plane. Its light and color will be highly refined. Here you will find emotions associated with all humanity or spiritual ecstacy. 6

Causal Body —The seventh layer of the aura, this level forms the resilient outer edge of our energy field. 7

Subtle Sensing —Sensing what is beyond, behind, permeating, informing, all that is physical. Sensing in this way can include a variety of sensory gifts like clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience, emotional empathy, physical empathy, etc.
