Puerta Abierta Recreando

VFS is providing assistance at another institution, Puerta Abierta , which has the mandate to help the recovery of women dealing with problems of abuse and prostitution.

During the first year they were working twice a month, dedicating one day to the victims and the other one working with the Institution's assistants to the victims. Later, another therapist became involved, and so the working modality could be changed: a couple of therapists have been working every 15 days with the victims and the other couple of therapists have been working as well every 15 days with the assistants to the victims. This modality developed based on the interest of the victims for the therapy and their openness to it.

The main symptoms of the victims have to do fundamentally with anxiety, insomnia, depression, some of them show rigid personalities, others come from domestic violence, family alienation, mistreatment, abandonment from childhood, low self-esteem, and guilt. So far, important progress could be observed in all of them with different levels of healing.

Puerta Abierta Recreando is an organization supported by "Las Hermanas Oblatas del Santísimo Redentor" that deals with women that have been involved in the sex trade. They search regularly for those women in areas where prostitution is ongoing promoting the Institution to help them.
