FLOWER ESSENCES NATURALLY NURTURE CHILDREN
Raising children to be happy, healthy, and sensitive human beings, is not easy for any parent. The growth process is difficult for some children due to the amount of emotion they must handle. Seemingly, those who need help most would be those who are very sensitive and quiet in their apparent suffering. However, those who are stronger, safer or fighters, may also need to learn to use their mental, physical or emotional skills and learn to master them.
Childhood is extremely difficult and full of change, both for the child and the parents. It is important to determine what is most meaningful and relevant at this stage to be able somehow, to help both children and parents cope while utilizing more consciousness and well being.
Bach flowers provide a natural and safe support for these stages of development. It is important to emphasize that the flowers help to create the virtues needed by both parents and children, though they will not change the “essence” of either.
Children respond very quickly to flower essence treatment, not being as entrenched in their behaviors and habits as adults. It is advantageous and desirable to prevent instilling children's behavior patterns that may become rigid and then transformed into more comprehensive conflict situations.
Those with acute symptoms, such as fear of a situation, circumstantial jealousy at the birth of a sibling, etc., react to the flower remedies in no more than three days after taking a formula. In such cases, one can stop after the first bottle, if the situation is resolved.
In cases involving chronic situations, such as psychosomatic symptoms, treatment should be for a longer time and include at least one parent to break the vicious cycle certainly created from symptoms over longer periods of time.
To determine which flowers to use for young children, it is preferrable to observe their behaviors. This can be done through the mother, a person who has been with the child, or a therapist: How does she play? Is she bothered when a game doesn’t turn out as she wished? Does she lose interest easily? Does she throw things? Cries and seeks refuge with someone? Asks for help to achieve what is proposed? Is she patient, careful, "very sensitive," possessive, highly dependent or independent? Does she share her toys? These types of questions will guide us to where the child
is
, and we can then prepare a formula.
A SUMMARY OF THE 38 FLOWERS AND THE GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF BEHAVIORS IN CHILDREN
AGRIMONY
Extremely cheerful and happy disposition, seems to be always in a good mood.
This flower helps these children to relieve their inner confusion, share it and let go, calms and brings comfort.
BEECH
Children who find it difficult to be tolerant with other children; their "way" is the only correct way of doing things.
This flower helps them develop the ability to better understand others, empathy. It is also very useful for reflux in babies.
CENTAURY
Placid nature and generous. It is difficult for them to defend themselves, they become victims.
This flower helps them not to be servile in the face of anything, to recognize the genuine need to discern when and where it is necessary to say no.
CERATO
They doubt their own judgments, they imitate their peers, are easily influenced.
This flower helps children to know their own minds, to trust their own beliefs and follow their intuition.
CHICORY
They are affectionate and loving and look to their parents and families for similar affection. They do not want to be ignored. Unable to share their toys.
This flower helps provide great strength and great capacity for love, without seeking anything in return. Great power of discernment and relentless determination.
CLEMATIS
They are dreamers, imaginary games with imaginary friends. Lack of concentration.
This flower helps channel their imagination, so that it is a satisfactory and uninhibited expression.
CRAB APPLE
Children who are extremely neat and clean, it disgusts them to play in the dirt.
This flower helps them accept all as it is; it's the cure for diseases.
ELM
Children who are overwhelmed by responsibility, at school or at exam time.
This flower helps to rekindle the faith of the children in their ability to handle pressure.
HEATHER
Children who are hypochondriacs, are “chatterboxes,” for those who are self-centered.
This flower helps to have great empathy and willingness to help others.
IMPATIENS
These children are bored or angry if they cannot do something fast enough. Are eager to do something. They are restless or excitable, quick-minded. For babies who sleep restlessly, are irritable and toss and turn at night in bed.
This flower helps develop a smooth rhythm of personality that can relax and allow time for everything. They are capable and determined.
LARCH
These children lack self-confidence, fear failure and are shy to speak.
This flower helps to find the courage to take that step.
MIMULUS
Children who are fearful, timid, afraid of older children and teachers.
This flower helps to understand their fears and develop a deep understanding of others who live in the same type of situation.
OAK
Children who are able to detach from the importance of things. Are positive but have a tendency to work too much, may be exhausted.
When the inner strength begins to decline, this remedy is necessary.
PINE
Children who blame themselves, they say "sorry" for everything.
This flower helps relieve a guilty conscience.
RED CHESTNUT
Children who are concerned about the welfare of others, of parents. Fearful of accidents and illnesses of loved ones.
This flower helps to see the correct perspective for unfounded fears.
ROCK WATER
Children who set high standards and are highly self-disciplined. Seem tense and are perfectionists.
This flower helps to align the pressure and helps maintain high standards but not at the expense of their health.
SCLERANTHUS
It's good for any imbalance, dilemmas and indecision, and for kinesthetic disorders, dizziness and mood swings. Children who are hesitant and unsure.
This flower helps to stabilize fluctuating thoughts and establish more certainty and balance in mind.
VERVAIN
In the young child, shown as traits of hyperactivity, as older children, impatience, but these are feelings of yearning and enthusiasm. Have protective instincts. Re-balance from tension, frustration or anxiety.
VINE
Have a strong will and determination to go their own way. They can be aggressive and give orders to those around them. They have tantrums to get what they want. This flower helps to replace this negative energy for the positive qualities of Vine.
WALNUT
Childhood is a series of changes over a short period of rapid growth and development. This flower helps children adapt to these periods of change. The Walnut child knows what to do, but falters when presented with an alternative approach. The remedy provides the necessary protection against these influences and helps them follow their own paths.
WATER VIOLET
