Definition: The modern soul is evolving in its ability to think; this is a true spiritual gift which carries enormous creative potential. However, this thinking force is threatened in its development by overly intellectual and materialistic attitudes. For example, we may exactly analyze a tree for its fuel or timber capacity without ever seeing its spiritual identity. We may think of the sun as simply an explosion of hydrogen atoms, or the stars as a result of the “big bang,” without realizing that real spiritual forces and beings live and breathe in the movements of the sun and stars. This is tantamount to seeing the human being as only a physical body composed of highly defined parts like bones, cartilage, cellular tissue, and DNA, without ever apprehending the wholeness and spiritual complexity of the being which stands before us. Sensitive persons rebel against this materialistic consciousness, but often do so in a way that denies the real thinking capacities. Hound's Tongue stimulates and enlivens the thinking activity. It restores a sense of wonder and reverence for life, while also helping the soul to think in clear and specific ways about the spiritual dimensions of the physical world.
