"The Wildkind program does not use any pharmaceutical drugs unless absolutely necessary," points out program director Sarah Breuilly.  "We rely entirely on homeopathy and, thanks to a recent donation from FES, flower essences.  We are very pleased with the results. We do not have to worry about the animals suffering the side effects often seen with pharmaceuticals."

Sarah Breuilly was hired as Wildkind manager in July 2000. "The program employs only one staff member year round.  And that's me. I rely on the time my wonderful volunteers give to the program and the animals."

She moved to Colorado from New York State in 1994 where she had worked for two years as an Emergency Medical Technician. "I began volunteering with the Wildkind program in 1995, and worked for the program part time during the summer months. I learned about the use of homeopathy with wildlife through classes, literature, and the Rehabilitator I replaced. I was and continue to be amazed with the results."

Wildkind receives between 1800 and 2000 wild animals every year. They also shelter stray or surrounded exotic pets and livestock. Assistance with wildlife conflicts is available; Wildkind offers information on humane solutions for wildlife problems.

As a wildlife rehabilitation facility, they are licensed by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. They are part of the Humane Society of Larimer County, Colorado. Their license and permits allow them to care for small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and all birds except raptors.

The WildKind program is no longer in operation.
